Notably, this entire department is composed solely of women, showcasing a diverse array of expertise and qualifications that inspire the next generation of scientists.

Amy Brown, MS Science

Associates of Science from Blue Ridge Community College Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University. Major – Biology Minor – Secondary Education

Kim Copeland, HS Chemistry

BS in Chemistry, Duke University, PhD in Chemistry, California Institute of Technology

Sarah Mitch, HS Life Sciences

BA in biology, chemistry, and school social work with teacher certification from Bucknell University, Chemistry, teacher certification and MSW from Salem State University, and is working on an Intructional design and technology graduate certificate at University of Virginia. 

Megan Holland, HS Physics

BS in Integrated Science and Technology with a concentration in Energy and Minor in Mathematics from JMU, Master of Teaching from UVA
