Flames’ Aviwe Mahlong Signs with Millersville University

Aviwe Mahlong is pictured signing a letter of intent to play basketball with Millersville (Pa.) University, where he was offered a full-ride scholarship, and where he plans to pursue a business degree.

Mahlong, of Johannesburg, South Africa, was a standout player at Eastern Mennonite School in his two seasons at EMS, leading the team to state title runs in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons. See article on 2019 historic season wrap up.

Aviwe was named to the First Team All Conference and First Team All State both seasons he played for EMHS. He finished with 994 points in just two seasons (average of 16ppg). He was team captain in 2020 and voted team MVP.
