Great Community Give
Thank you!
The Great Community Give on Wed. April 16, 2025 generated funds for over 100 area non-profits.
78 donors gave $25,268 by the close of the giving day to EMS. Thank you!
We continue to receive gifts for this special project to upgrade lighting in the auditorium. A significant gift was received for an endowed scholarship fund - a gift that will continue to give back for many years to come! Gifts are still accepted online, simply include a note in the memo what project you would like to support.
Each year, the Great Community Give promotes charitable giving to over 100 local nonprofits for one full day. It is an initiative of The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
Gifts will be accepted starting with early giving on Wednesday, April 2 and ending at 8 pm on Wednesday, April 16. The EMS office will accept offline gifts (checks, cash, etc) through 5 pm on April 16 for the Great Community Give.

Help brighten the EMS auditorium
Keeping the Lights on
In the 2024-2025 school year we celebrate 20 years in the EMS arts addition. We're grateful for the supporters that made that project possible, and the many hands that have helped with tech behind the scenes. The time has come to replace the lights to ensure quality productions and experiences continue to happen. EMS regularly uses the auditorium (and its lights) for chapel, performances, and gatherings. Outside organizations also enjoy this facility.
The Arts
The arts program ensures daily, year round creativity for our students, fostering a lasting impact. The concert season features directors, vocalists, and instrumentalists who collaboratively put together outstanding performances that bring together the school and local community. The theater department offers a middle and high school play, as well as a winter high school musical.
Faith Formation
Students grow in their faith through integration of values-based content across school life. They listen to speakers and share their own stories during chapel, which is held in the auditorium. Choral worship services celebrate music while sharing stories of the love of Jesus. Musical rehearsals include explorations of faiths and cultures represented and understanding the similarities and differences with Christian and Mennonite faith.
